Vintage sheet fat quarter swap

I am terrible at remembering to take pictures of things & forgot to take a pic of the vintage sheet fat quarters I sent off for the swap that Meika has organised. But I have gone through my fabrics & think that some of them were in this lot - I think I sent off nine. Truely I have a memory like a sieve these days!!

I have been rather busy of late trying to sort through our things, getting rid of too small clothes, etc as I am having a stall at the local trash & treasure market. Hopefully it will help to pay to send back to QLD a load of my fabric stash so that I don't have to get rid of it before we move!!

Slowly getting there.....

Well I have just added these girls to my Etsy shop & have plenty more creations to add, but I am slowly getting there. They are made predominantly from vintage recycled fabrics.

I am not sure how well it will go, but I thought it was worth the try. I haven't found ebay too successful as people tend to be after a bargain & once ebay fees etc are paid you really don't make too much, but maybe I just didn't give it a good go- what does everyone else think?

I was so spoilt!!

Well it was my birthday last week & I was very spoilt! So many lovely things & among them was these....
These first three pics are just some of the gorgeous fabrics that I received from my brother & sister in law. I am guessing she had her mum send them over from Japan. In my box was also some checks, stripes, denim, loads of trims etc - VERY SPOILT!!!
Then my other sister in law sent me this softies book & the gorgeous fabric behind it. I have been eyeing this book off for a while so was extremely excited to receive it. And as for the fabric Joely knows my taste very well - THANK YOU!!
I received so many other gorgeous gifts - I actually meant to take a pic of a fantastic pin cushion my mum made & thenm spoilt me on top of that with a spotlight voucher (naughty mum!!). I received so many other things & wonderful wishes for my birthday too - thank you to everyone who remembered me (even though I was happy to forget this birthday - I am no longer in my twenties!).
I also thought I would share this gorgeous gingham smocked trim I picked up on etsy. It is so beautiful & I couldn't really get a good picture of it. So look out for creations in the future using it - I can't wait!!

Nantucket Weekend GIVEAWAY!!!!

Nantucket Weekend GIVEAWAY!!!!

These are just gorgeous - check them out!!!

I'm back...

Well after a lovely week away at a girlfriends I am back on my blog again.
Unfortunately not alot of crafting has been done. I did finish Em's ladybug costume for the party. Here is a picture of both the kids in their outfits at the dress-up party...
It is absolutely freezing & wet & miserable weather here at the moment. It actually snowed overnight & some roads were even cut. But the kids had fun in the snow this mornign before it was melted away by more rain....

Yeehaaaaah!

Well we are off to a dress up birthday party on the weekend & although I had plenty for Em, I had nothing for Liam, so I decided I would use only my stash & see what I could come up with instead of spending about $30 on some sort of dress up at the shops. And this is what we ended up with.....

I based the cowboy jacket around this vintage pattern & the pants I just winged it. The photo unfortunately isn't the best, but it is made out of brown & orange vintage chenille bedspreads. Will have to try & get some good action shots on the weekend!

2 more gifts finished

Well I finally finished the bag which was also going to the little girl I made the bunny for....

And ended up making a satchel for the little boy who's party we are going to next weekend...

Not much else on the sewing front although I have almost completed a cowboy vest & pants for Liam, will hopefully have them completed in time for the fancy dress b'day party at the weekend!

Opshopping Loot!

I decided to head in to Hobart today with the kids as one of the opshops was having a sale. I didn't stay too long as one usually can't with kids, but I scored really well - this is just some of my loot......

These first 2 are obviously linen/fabric, but I also scored myself this crochet cardi - a tad daggy, but that is me all over! (Although some may argue a little more than a "tad").

I managed to get a denim & velvet jacket too & a couple of patterns & diolies. Unfortunately there really wasn't anything for the kids - will just have to keep going on the machine!

Oh I also forgot I got a lovely package in the mail yesterday. I won a comp at craftymamas & received this knitting book - which I have already earmarked a few basic patterns for me (the more basic the better!!). I purchased the latest Ottobre which is just full of gorgeous patterns as always. I made up the top which is next to the devine brown Euro fabric I also purchased. Now that I know it works I will make it up with the brown fabric. It is the last pic - blue floral.

Welcome to the world my new beautiful niece!!

I became an Aunty again this morning - I am so very excited, I just wish I didn't live so far away. I haven't seen a picture yet, but if she is anything like her Mama she will be just beautiful!!
WELCOME TO THE WORLD MOST PRECIOUS "ZAHLI JADE" . I am unsure of spelling as I forgot to ask the sleep deprived daddy!
